BioNTech is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join Peptide Chemistry group at BioNTech US. The newly hired scientist will work independently in a highly collaborative and cross-functional team to develop cancer immunotherapies.

Supporting BioNTech’s R&D projects by:
  • Design, synthesis and purify peptides and novel chemical entities for developing cancer immunotherapies
  • Perform conjugation chemistry using a variety of moieties and linkers
  • Modify and optimize peptides for different formulations and drug delivery systems
  • Work cross-functionally within the organization in various areas including immunomodulators, formulation and drug delivery, small molecules, T cells, neoantigen vaccines, in vitro assays, and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies
  • Liaise with CROs and CMOs

What you have to offer.

  • PhD in peptide chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, or a related discipline with 3+ years of industry experience in drug discovery
  • Hands-on experience in solid-phase peptide synthesis, automated peptide synthesizers, automated purification equipment, and analytical instruments including HPLC, UPLC, and LC-MS
  • Experience in conjugation chemistry is desirable
  • Knowledge in oligonucleotide synthesis is a plus
  • Proven track record of creative thinking and consistent delivery as demonstrated by publication/presentation records
  • Highly organized with a pro-active mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a team and collaborative environment
